Bihar State Milk Co-operative Federation Ltd. was established in 1983 as the implementing agency of the Operation Flood (OF) programme for the state of Bihar. Envisioned towards successful development of cooperative dairying in the state of Bihar, it continued to spread its activities to provide income generation activities to rural farmers through dairying even after closure of program. COMFED markets its milk and milk products under the brand name ‘SUDHA’.
Following are the salient features of the Nalanda Dairy Plant:
Having Liquid Milk Processing capacity of 4.00 Lakh litre per day.
Integrated Milk Powder Plant having production capacity of 30.00 Metric Ton per day
Ultra Heat Treatment (UHT) Plant having APS Packing capacity of 66000 Litre per hour for Milk and 2200 Litre per hour for juice.
Elecster Packing having production capacity of 6000 Ltr/hr
Continuous Butter Making Machine having capacity 20Mt per day.
Ice-cream Having production capacity of 20,000 LPD
